When working in an archive, my billable time starts when I enter the building and ends when I leave the building.

I do not bill for travel time up to 45 minutes to Boston-area repositories.  You will only be billed for the actual time spent on your project and any expenses such as photocopy charges or parking. I use public transit whenever possible. 

For Philadelphia-area research, I do not charge for travel time or expenses beyond tolls and gas; I am responsible for my own overnight accommodation. I visit Austin, TX on a routine basis. I am happy to conduct research at local archives when your needs coincide with my existing travel schedule.
